NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
National Night Out is a nation-wide event to promote neighbors getting to know neighbors. This is our biggest event of the year. It's a fun evening with food, music, games, door prizes, displays, T-shirt tie-dying, and more. Frequently the Springfield Fire Department and Springfield Police Department also stop by. The Train Museum at Grant Beach Park is open during National Night Out; and the Pool is usually open for $1.00 or a non-perishable canned item. We do ask those who attend to bring a side dish, chips, or a dessert to share. We have a lot of volunteers from the area churches to help out. The volunteers usually handle the food, serving hot dogs and/or hamburgers for us. National Night Out starts at 6:00 pm at Grant Beach Park, and usually goes until around 9:30 pm. This year National Night Out is Friday, August 26, 2016, from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm at Grant Beach Park.PHOTOS
